Cem is a molecular biologist with a background in developmental biology.
He has completed his B.A. in Molecular Biology and Genetics at Bilkent University and earned his Ph.D. in Biology and Biomedical Sciences from Harvard. In his Ph.D. work in Connie Cepko’s lab, he worked on elucidating the mechanisms cells use when they differentiate during development of the neural retina and developed methods for discovering DNA-protein interactions on regulatory sequences. He is currently a Sr.Scientist at Dyno Therapeutics working on Machine guided AAV Capsid design to enable gene therapy.
